 Who are Invisible Link? Top

Invisible Link are a specialist Wireless Communications Integration Company providing design, implementation and support to network and system integration partners, Internet service Providers and carriers.

What Solutions are available from Invisible Link Top

Invisible Link specialize a multitude of market leading wireless technologies including Wifi internal Wireless LAN, unlicensed building interconnectivity using Point to Point, Multipoint and Free Space Optical technologies and Licensed Microwave solutions.

Do Invisible Link provide wireless sales to the end user channel? Top

Invisible Link operates sales via a strict channel policy providing wireless design, supply; implementation and support services via our partners. These include Network and System Integrators, Internet service Providers and Tier 1 networks carriers.

Invisible Link DO NOT sell directly to end users but are often engage directly with the end users on behalf of our partners to deliver a seamless wireless solution.

Invisible Link become an extended wireless division within our partners companies and we pride ourselves on our transparency with our partners

What Wireless solutions do Invisible Link provide? Top

Wifi internal WLAN - We partner with market and technology leading vendors to provide professional internal standards based wireless solutions.

Unlicensed Microwave - With over 10 years experience in the unlicensed market place we provide the market leading point to multipoint technologies for ISP last mile connectivity and have a wealth of experience and knowledge in designing and deploying point to point wireless solutions for LES line replacement.

Unlicensed radio gives a very effective solution for None Line of Sight applications and we are working in conjunction with our partners to deploy Wimax Solutions.

The solutions we provide encompass 2.4 / 3.5 / 5.4 / 5.8 / 10.5 Ghz frequencies.

Free Space Optic Solutions - FSO or Laser Links are very high capacity (Gigabit) short to medium range point to point links. FSO requires a clear line of sight between both locations operating as a virtual fibre cable replacement or back up link.

Licensed Microwave - Partnering with the worlds leading manufacturers of licensed microwave solutions, Invisible link can provide a complete range of SDH and PDH solutions, from design and license preparation to site implementation. Licensed microwave links provide high capacity long range high bandwidth guaranteed links over distances up to and in excess of 50km (line of Sight).

In what environment would you install a Laser link between two buildings? Top

Laser is a high bandwidth short to medium solution for virtual fibre connectivity. With up to Gigabit connectivity and as system that operates at Layer 1 we can provide fast deployment straight from switch to switch. The key to a good laser solution lies in the planning and installation of the link to guarantee operation.

In what type of environment would you deploy a licensed Microwave ? Top

Building to Building or base station links where a clear line of sight can be established between the two locations. Distances from less than 1km to in excess of 50km can be achieved with capacities ranging from 4 to 10Mbs Ethernet (PDH) and up to 622Mbs (SDH).

Licensed Microwave links are used by all the major carriers to provide high capacity, reliable, quickly deployable communication solutions.

The main target market for license solution is LES 100 replacement links where license can be provided at a fraction of fixed line costs (subject to design conditions).

In what type of environment would you deploy unlicensed radio? Top

Unlicensed radios are a well established solution for last mile connectivity i.e. Internet Service Providers or in Wireless WAN infrastructure such as LES 10 replacement networks where an Council or Local Education Authority want to implement a cost effective private network replacing their LES/ISDN network.

Unlicensed solutions offer a fast deployable cost effective solution for building connectivity with speeds from 54Mbs up to 300 Mbs (air interface).

A number of frequencies are available for fast deployment of outdoor radios that are non standards based and offer secure, flexible high speed network solutions.

The major benefit of unlicensed radios is the Non Line of Sight capability, no longer are we restricted with having to see both ends of the link to guarantee connectivity. By utilizing OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) as the carrier the radios are very effective at operating in urban environments.

What type of solution can be utilized for up to where no or near line of sight can only be achieved between the two locations? Top

A number of solutions can be deployed in this environment depending on the bandwidth requirement and budget. Alvarion provide a simple flexible solution with scalable bandwidth requirements ranging from 14 to 70Mbs Ethernet speeds as a very cost competitive solution. Motorola have a number of products with connectivity up to 300Mbs. Each of these solutions provides an effective solution where obstacles may affect the radio path.

Do you require Full line of Sight for a Laser Link? Top

Yes a clear line of sight and strong sturdy mounting bases are required for laser links to ensure continuous alignment of the laser heads.

Is a laser link susceptible to interference and how do you combat heavy fog, can you provide resilient links? Top

Freezing fog can in extreme cases result in temporary loss of the link between the two locations specifically when there is no visibility between the laser heads. It is imperative that laser links are designed correctly and within specification to ensure a seamless operation
.

When designing laser networks we provide an option for a full technology diverse resilient solution by using a laser link as primary and a radio back up or secondary link. This builds in fault tolerance and provides continuous operation across all weather conditions in excess of five 9s availability.

How would you provide LES100 equivalent connectivity for voice and data over long distance links with Line of sight, eg NHS Trust, County Council building inter-connectivity? Top

The solution we would propose would be for a PDH licensed microwave solution. We provide a scalable solution for licensed microwave links with bandwidths available from 4Mbs to 105Mbs in a single radio with full protection schemes of 1+1, 1+0, SD, FD etc.

With the additional flexibility of supporting frequencies from 7 to 38 Ghz we can design the appropriate system to match your requirement. By having a full compliment of frequencies we have the flexibility of implementing antennas ranging from 30cm to 1.8m.

A microwave solution is a very cost effective alternative to LES 100 links with in many cases a significantly more attractive OPEX
Currently there are applications for Remote Broadband deployments can Invisible Link assist with such projects? Top

Invisible Link has significant experience in providing wireless solutions for a multitude of wireless broadband applications. By utilizing a mixture of technologies we have the capabilities to provide a full range of technologies required to implement an effective wireless broadband network.

By utlilising License links for the backhaul high capacity infrastructure and operating unlicensed point to point and multipoint last mile connectivity we have vast experience in supplying equipment and services to some of the largest Wireless ISP's in Ireland .

Can Invisible Link provide 1Gbs connectivity between two buildings less than 1 km? Top

By implementing an FSO solution we can provide a very cost effective solution for gigabit connectivity, the link can be primary or can be a secondary back up link for an existing fibre connection.

Many campus environments have fibre runs that may be inaccessible or may have no resilience for critical data transfer links. By implementing an FSO link we can provide a carrier diverse option that is very quickly deployable within days (subject to conditions).

Deploying FSO can be significantly cheaper than the civil engineering costs of laying fibre especially where roads need to be excavated and reduce disruption within Campus environments.

Internal Wifi Solutions do Invisible Link have an effective solution for Voice over IP (VOIP) and other triple play requirements? Top

Invisible Link have partnered with Extricom to promote their interference free wireless architecture. The Extricom solution is a switch based technology providing 802.11 a,b,g compatability. The main differentiator of Extricom over other wireless technologies is the single channel blanket operation. This takes away the requirement for cell planning when deploying internal Wifi. The major benefit from a single channel platform is zero latency hand off between Access Points during roaming, hence the Extricom solution is unrivalled for VOIP handling in an internal Wireless LAN environment.

There are many more questions on wireless technologies and we are only too happy to answer all your wireless needs.
