Free Space Optics Radio/Microwave Satellite Wi-Fi

Free Space Optics Top
FSO is used to build optical backbones, to provide dedicated high-speed point-to-point service to businesses, or to provide medium-distance backhaul to the Internet. Capacity for FSO links ranges from 1.5 Mbps all the way up to 2.5 Gbps.

Free Space Optics or FSO technology uses invisible light beams to deliver high-speed wireless communications that are both reliable and secure. Like fiber, FSO uses lasers to transmit data, but instead of enclosing the data stream in a glass fiber, it is transmitted through the air. FSO avoids the cost of digging to lay fiber, licensing for radio frequencies, is immune to interference.

Satellite Technology Top
Satellite technology is used to provide the first mile connection or gateway from the network to the Internet. Satellite is ideal for users that are located in remote areas where wireline or RF/microwave solutions are either unavailable due to distances or unreasonable due to cost.

Dispersed and remote communities requiring broadband access can share a single satellite terminal and have services distributed to WiFi access points. The IP gateway of the satellite terminal is connected to the community's wireless distribution system. The benefits of Satellite are fast deployment times and independance from terrestial communications infrastructure.
Radio / Microwave Top
Radio or microwave technology is used to provide the first mile or gateway connection to the Internet from a community. RF technology is robust and reliable and offers a high-capacity wireless solution. It is widely used to provide communications for mobile phone networks.

The platform offers multiple aggregate and tributary capacities and interface types, with the flexibility to be deployed in configurations that include terminal, add-drop, and cross-connect. This versatility allows operators to seamlessly integrate wireless and fibre to provide voice and value-added data services over high-capacity links. It is a ideal replacement for leased lines or burying fiber cable.

Introduction
Wi-Fi is standards based data transmission radio technology for high speed, flexible, wireless network connectivity. Speeds of 11Mbp (IEEE802.11b) and 54Mbps (IEEE802.11a, g) can be achieved.

Access Solutions
Invisible Link are in a unique position to offer expertise in a variety of License free Wireless Broadband Radio Solutions.
Our objective is to provide the right solution to optimise the application requirement, which invariably requires a mix of Wireless Access Platforms and Technologies.

The Invisible Link team can provide bespoke solutions including a variety of scalable, Cellular Wireless Access infrastructure utilising, FHSS, DSSS (Frequency Hopping, Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum) and OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) Market leading technologies.

Wi-Fi and Broadband Wireless Access Technologies
Wi-Fi networks use radio technologies called IEEE 802.11b or 802.11a to provide secure, reliable, fast wireless connectivity. A Wi-Fi network can be used to connect computers to each other, to the Internet, and to wired networks (which use IEEE 802.3 or Ethernet ). Wi-Fi networks operate in the unlicensed 2.4 and 5 GHz radio bands, with an 11 Mbps (802.11b) or 54 Mbps (802.11a) data rate or with products that contain both bands (dual band), so they can provide real-world performance similar to the basic 10BaseT wired Ethernet networks used in many offices.

Hot Spots
Hot Spots are an extension of the interoperability feature of Wi-Fi technology allowing wireless connectivity on the move.

Hot Spots are becoming a popular offering in many Airports, Hotels, coffee shops, service stations, business centres etc. Utilising a number of Wi-Fi Hot Spot platforms, Invisible Link can provide a fully operational Wireless Hot Spot solution to allow internet connectivity, with full billing, bandwidth management and secure access management facilities. Hot Spots are a way of generating revenue, by providing fast Internet connectivity to people on the move. They are compatible to users of laptop computers, PDAs and devices having a Wi-Fi IEE802.11b compliant network card.
